It is finally here!!!! BASICS classes for parents or caregivers with children who have expressed emotional disturbances and/or have been diagnosed with a mental illness. There are three classes being held. Two in the far east side at Socorro Independent School District's Center (SISD) and one on the west side Doris Van Doren Library to try to meet everyone's location. Free and open to the public and professionals, these sessions will facilitate awareness on the most relevant issues in mental health today. Free CEUs will be provided for licensed social workers and licensed professional counselors. No registration is required.

This month's doctor is Dr. Shivani Mehta, board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
