NAMI Family-to-Family Program Leader Training
NAMI Family-to-Family Program Leader Training
We are seeking family members, friends, and caregivers who support a loved one living with a mental health condition. This free, two-day training prepares volunteers to teach NAMI’s evidence-based Family-to-Family program and make a lasting impact in our community.
NAMI Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session educational program for family members, significant others, and friends of adults living with mental health conditions. Research shows that this program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition. This course is taught by NAMI-trained family members who have been there, and includes presentations, discussions, and interactive exercises.
You would be a great teacher if:
- You are a family member or caregiver of someone living with a mental health condition
- You can commit to teaching a class one time a year for two years
- You are or are willing to become a NAMI Member BEFORE the training
- You like to co-facilitate a class (teach a class that has two leaders)
- You have a welcoming personality and are interested in sharing information with families as they face the challenges of living with a mental health condition
This two-day training will be held in person, on Saturday, March 7, from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM & Sunday, March 8, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, at Family Service of El Paso (6040 Surety Dr.)
